Dispatch
The Eldridge Police Department is dispatched through the Scott Emergency Communications Center out of Davenport.
The Scott Emergency Communications Center does not have a “non-emergency” phone number. Whether you have a general question for a police officer or you are faced with an emergency, it is okay to call 911 in any circumstance.
The residents who live in Long Grove or Parkview are serviced by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department and are encouraged to call 911 any time you need to speak with a Deputy or need a Deputy to respond.
Eldridge residents are also encouraged to call 911 any time you need an Eldridge Police Officer to respond.
School Involvement
The Eldridge Police Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of every student, staff member, and visitor in the North Scott Community School District. Below are the resources that help keep our school community well-informed and safe.
Each building conducts a minimum number of safety drills during each grading period. These drills include fire, severe weather, and ALICE drills. The primary schools complete one of each type of drill each trimester, and the secondary schools complete two drills of each type per semester.
At North Scott, situations that threaten student and staff safety and security are never acceptable. We will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to protect every student and staff member from harm, and we will continue to explore new options for increasing security protocols as needed.

School Resource Officer
In agreement with the North Scott Community School District, one full-time police officer works all school hours. The officer, who is housed at the High School, serves all eight buildings in the district and attends many school functions.
Halo Sensors
Bathrooms at the High School and Junior High are equipped with HALO sensors that detect flammables, hazardous chemicals, air quality changes (vape and smoke) and even analyze room occupancy through light detection. HALO can also detect abnormal noise level fluctuations (aggressive behaviors/fighting). The sensors immediately notify administrators if an event is detected, including if someone says “help or emergency.”
Informed Safety Protocol
North Scott utilizes an information sharing system in all potential emergency situations to allow all staff and students to make the best-informed decisions for their safety.
Security Cameras
180 security cameras cover interior and exterior spaces, plus building entrances continuously. Feeds are viewable by administration and staff for the safety of all who come to the district buildings.
Controlled Entrances
All building entrances are secured by a two locked door system with cameras and intercoms. A school staff member must verify a visitor and grant them access one door at a time in order for them to enter a building.
