ELDRIDGE HAS LOW TAXES AND STILL WOULD EVEN IF A $32.9 MILLION DOLLAR REFERENDUM WAS PASSED. Eldridge residents are paying the second lowest city taxes in Scott County. Many cities with much lower populations pay much more in city taxes. Please see the chart in the illustration below. This shows that if a $32.9 million dollar were passed this year Eldridge would still have the fourth lowest city taxes in Scott County in 2027. Only Donahue, population 335, Princeton, population 923, and Long Grove, population 838 would have lower city taxes than Eldridge if a referendum passed. Currently only Donahue, population 335, has lower city taxes than Eldridge. Please note that Walcott, Blue Grass, McCausland, LeClaire, Buffalo, Camanche and DeWitt all have much higher tax rates currently than Eldridge does and still would even if Eldridge passed a referendum for public facilities.
