City Council
The City of Eldridge has a mayor-council format of local government with an appointed city administrator.
Terms
The mayor is elected every four years and the five City Council members are elected to serve four-year overlapping terms. The City Council appoints the city administrator.
The City employs 33 full-time employees. The City’s annual budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23 is $17.1 million, including transfers between funds.

Regular City Council meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Election Information
Eldridge is committed to open and fair elections.
The election is this fall, November 4, 2025. The City of Eldridge will have three positions, two City Council seats and the Mayoral seat. The Candidate Guides are available to pick up at City Hall or can be downloaded via the Iowa Secretary of State’s website Schools and Cities.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
