Electric Line Journeyman (Full-Time)

The City of Eldridge is accepting applications for a full-time Electric Journeyman.  Under the direction of the Utility Manager/Line Superintendent, they will construct and maintain overhead and underground transmission and distribution power lines. Installs and maintains related equipment used to conduct electrical energy from generating stations through substations to customers.

The preferred candidate should be a certified Journeyman in the electric distribution field working as a lineman. A high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift 75 lbs., the ability to work off the ladder, and the ability to climb poles and towers are required.  Must also have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL license within six months from the date of hire. A graduate of a recognized Lineman Training Program is preferred.  The anticipated starting pay is $42.49/hour or $88,379.20 with IPERS state retirement plan and a very competitive benefits package including health insurance, vision, dental, life, LTD/STD and flex spending. A full job description can be found HERE. Please submit a cover letter, resume, and application to Nevada Lemke at nlemke@cityofeldridgeia.org.
